BERRY RATTLER FROM HEALEY’S CYDER
Healey’s Cyder continues to lead the way in inventive cyders with the introduction of Berry Rattler. The latest innovation from Healey’s Cyder will be launching in 500ml bottles available from multiples throughout Cornwall and the South West. Berry Rattler will be also trialling on draught at select St Austell Brewery pubs.
A light and sparkling 4% ABV cyder, Berry Rattler is made by blending original Cornish Rattler with tasty red berries, creating a fresh summery drink whilst still retaining the Rattler bite. Slightly sweeter in taste and lower in alcohol than original Cornish Rattler, this new initiative is predicted to capitalise on the very successful Rattler brand franchise, originally introduced by Healey’s in 2003.
Healey brothers, Sam and Joe comment: “We like to be different, and Berry Rattler is no exception. It offers a more unusual blend, an entirely new opportunity for draught cyder, a distinctive label and branding which will ensure standout from the crowd. Alongside the bottles, we are very excited to be trialling Berry Rattler on draught in selected St Austell Brewery pubs. The first ever draught Berry cyder, we are predicting a great response with roll out plans across the South West following the initial trial period.”
Berry Rattler will join the other very successful variants in the Rattler range, which already includes Cornish Rattler and Pear Rattler. The collection is inspired by Cornwall’s lifestyle, beaches and laid-back approach with a strong focus on the ‘just chill’ strap line.
The Healey brothers add: “Rattler has a strong brand identity with a cult following in Cornwall and beyond. Its unusual and individual design attracts consumers who buy into the Cornish lifestyle and provenance of the region, and who are seeking a premium cyder. Rattler is now growing beyond the South West with plans to introduce the brand to consumers across the south.”
Since original Cornish Ratter Cyder was bottled in 2007, it has become Cornwall’s fastest growing product by volume of sales, growing 70% year on year, and with bottle sales at 1.5 million last year. Bottle sales represent only one third of the business; the remainder is sold on draught through 800 pubs across the UK. Pear Rattler Cyder was introduced in 2008 and in just one year sales grew to an impressive 500,000 bottles.
