MAXXIUM UK LAUNCHES BRUGAL IN BRIGHTON CAMPAIGN

Maxxium UK invested £80,000 in a six week long marketing campaign supporting Brugal Rum throughout the month of June, focussing on the city of Brighton.

Taking inspiration from the thriving street art culture of the Dominican Republic, live street art events took place in Brighton’s Jubilee Square (3-4 June & 25-26 June) where locals watched the art come to life before their eyes, the theme was extended into an outdoor campaign comprising over 25 six sheet bill boards located around the city.

This was also linked to the on trade via Brugal’s ‘pimp your t-shirt’ workshops which took place in twelve specially selected bars, linking in to a social media campaign on Facebook which encouraged those participating to upload their designs and put them to the public vote.

Karen Dobie, Brand Manager, Maxxium UK commented: “We believe Brugal and Brighton are kindred spirits. Both are stylishly laid back, but with a quality aesthetic, seeking authenticity and a passion for life. With a shared love of socialising, dancing and music, we think Brightonians will welcome the Brugal spirit into their lives. We look forward to seeing the response to the campaign in Brighton, with a view to developing the activity for other key cities around the UK in the future.”

Brugal launched in the UK in 2008, and is the Dominican Republic’s number one selling rum and the only rum distilled, matured and bottled on the island.
